Information You Enter
Search Terms
When a name, location, or other search detail is entered into a partner search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Summit County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own records.
Messages
If an email or contact message is sent to us, the message and reply information may be kept long enough to respond and manage the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or valid legal process.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, technical data may be collected when pages load or when visitors interact with site features.

- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic and improve performance. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some site features or partner tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the partner service selected by the visitor.

Outside Websites
This site links to government portals, jail and sheriff resources, court-record request pages, ODRC tools, federal locators, VINELink, and third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the outside website's privacy policy and data practices apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and serve interest-based ads. That tracking is handled by the advertising partner, not by this site as an official record system.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone list. It may be available to limited service providers or authorities in the following situations.
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure site usage.
- Advertising networks that help display ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or similar legal requirement applies, including requests tied to Ohio or federal law.
Security
Reasonable technical and organizational practices are used to protect information handled by the site. No internet-connected service can be made completely secure, so this notice does not promise that data can never be accessed without authorization.
